As the PR & Events Marketing manager, you will lead the business functions of PR (campaigns, agency management and press office function) and Events: leading the creation and delivery of the events calendar to support the overall financial targets of the business and drive great customer experience. The role has 2 direct reports, budget management and agency management responsibilities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Team management - inspire and motivate the PR & Events team to deliver to their best - and so by achieving the annual objectives
  • Budget management - the role will directly liaise and manage agencies and should seek to continually improve service levels
  • Stakeholder management - as part of planning and delivering this role the individual must be able to identify and manage key stakeholders
  • PR campaigns - craft and implement a market leading PR campaign of customer orientated stories so as to enhance the customer perception of the brand and inspire customers to visit and spend more
  • Press office management - manage the press office on a day-to-day basis and facilitates the sign off of press releases
  • PR agency management - act as the key point of contact for PR related issues. Manage the PR agency relationship
  • PR Crisis Communications - gathers facts, informs key stakeholders and facilitates internal communications in the event of a crisis so as to enable the business to respond appropriately and at pace
  • PR Media Response - responds at pace and creates PR content in response to external situations so as to capitalise on opportunities and mitigate risks whilst safeguarding the reputation

Key skills and experience:

  • Min 6 years' experience in a PR/campaign/events marketing role. Experience in a retail environment preferred
  • Stakeholder management experience essential
  • Agency management experience
  • People management experience and leading a small team
  • Budget management
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • Able to be adaptable and flexible, can modify style in order to achieve goals and maintain effectiveness within changing environments and varying responsibilities
  • Enthusiastic and energetic. Able to create and maintain a level of effective output, capacity to work hard, drive to succeed
  • Confident to put their own view across and influence where necessary
  • Used to working with other marketing channels to influence the delivery of campaigns
