Case Study: GPE
Spotlight: Property
GPE is a UK property development and investment company - it mainly owns
office buildings, with a smaller amount of retail property. The company invests
in and develops central London real estate, and its property portfolio includes
ready to fit and fully managed office spaces as well as retail spaces. It is listed
on the London Stock Exchange and at 31 March 2022, Great Portland Estate’s
property portfolio was valued at circa £2.1 billion.
Our Work With GPE
EMR first began working with GPE in 2020 when they needed support in
building out their marketing team and hiring a Head of Marketing. Despite
being up against another agency, we were able to use our deep market
knowledge and understanding of the property sector to successfully fill the role.
Since then, EMR has built a long-term relationship with GPE and helped to
successfully build out their marketing team, including four additional hires:
three Commercial Marketing Managers and a Digital
Marketing Manager role. When working on the first Commercial Marketing
Manager hire, we were given a very strict brief and we understood the
importance to GPE of finding candidates who had existing commercial
property experience. Because our consultants only work in specific sector
verticals, we were able to conduct a very targeted market mapping and
headhunting exercise, reaching out to our little black book of property contacts
to provide a short-list for GPE. Ultimately, only candidates put forward by EMR
reached the final stage of the hiring process.
