Big turnout for the IR Societies flagship Best Practice Awards

On Tuesday 22nd November the Investor Relations Society hosted their annual Best Practice Awards dinner at the Tower of London. With over 20 awards categories and 170 entries, almost 600 IR professionals turned out for the prestigious event.
Now in their 16th year, the Awards are open to all companies that wish to demonstrate their commitment to leading investor communications.
The flagship Best Practice Awards, have influenced many developments in investor relations practice over the years and are a much prized recognition of best in class performance.
There were two sets of awards presented – the Self-entry awards, with the winners determined by a panel of judges, and the Voted awards, with the winners determined by votes cast by the buy- and sell-sides.
For another year running, EMR were proud to present the Best Newcomer to IR with Principal Consultant Debbie Nathan and Senior Consultant Muksheeda Boodhooa presenting the award to Charlotte McBride at J Sainsbury.
Key highlights included Shire celebrating the Best Overall Company IR Award in the Voted awards and Greg Feehely, ASOS being named the Best IRO, a previous winner of this award.
