What do you think are the key skills/strengths that make a good EMR recruiter?
I think an ability to communicate verbally is probably the main skill that makes a good recruiter. Being able to act as an adviser to candidates and clients, being personable, being able to be sympathetic to people’s needs (after all, a career is a big part of someone’s life), to be tactful, discreet, enthusiastic, determined and above all else, a people’s person.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
The diversity of the role and the range of people you interact with on daily basis. Each role we work on is so different, that it never feels repetitive. I love meeting people and enjoy the interaction with candidates and clients. I enjoy the buzz of getting a candidate an offer and more importantly, meeting up with the candidate a couple of months into their new role to find it was the best decision they made.
What do you enjoy the most about the culture at EMR?
I love the culture at EMR. It is such a friendly, collaborative and warm environment. There’s a heavy emphasis on team and company-wide events, and it helps build an even stronger team atmosphere. The monthly wrap-ups are a great way to hear about how the teams are getting on, and a great excuse to have a glass of wine...or two.
What do you feel have been your key achievements since joining the business?
Learning the recruitment ropes! Having joined EMR as a recruitment newbie, the in-house training was instrumental in helping me pick up recruitment and to start filling roles almost immediately. Management at EMR are also extremely helpful and supportive in guiding you along, and are always there to offer you further guidance or training if you should so wish.

What attracted you to a career in recruitment?
Mainly because the harder you work, the more you are rewarded!
Coming from a marketing background, I loved the idea of being submerged in marketing and able to speak to fellow marketing enthusiasts all day!
What are the key skills/strengths that make a good EMR recruiter?
What do you enjoy most about your role? The exciting part of my job is when you truly understand someone’s passion and are able to help them secure the right role. Yay!
What do you enjoy the most about the culture at EMR?They are nicest bunch of people and my face usually hurts from laughing all day! Be warned though, drinks usually start on Friday at 4:30pm and one drink will always lead to five.
What do you feel have been your key achievements since joining the business?
I’m learning something new every day. I couldn’t pinpoint just one achievement (as there has been so many) but the sense of achievement you feel when you find someone their dream job. It’s awesome.
