You will lead the busy press and publishing team, and your tasks will include planning and executing a proactive and extensive programme of media activity, and managing the production of a portfolio of award-winning publications. You will understand the current media landscape and be able to handle crisis communications.

You will have exceptional time and people-management skills, and be able to plan and keep track of multiple projects while constantly scanning the horizon for opportunities and threats. You will be comfortable engaging with staff at every level, have a bulging contacts book and plenty of experience dealing directly with journalists. Most of all you will have a can-do attitude and be passionate about PR, with a keen understanding of how it can benefit an organisation.

Person Specification:

  • High calibre individual with a proven track record in PR and Media Relations.
  • Current or previous staff management experience.
  • A strong track record in producing a programme of high-impact media relations as well as exemplary people management skills.
  • Be able to demonstrate an ability to spot and shape a potential story.
  • Understanding, authority and experience to work at the highest editorial level, including an impressive portfolio of contacts.
  • Independently driven and can take the initiative; with strong administrative skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are a prerequisite for the job.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills are a prerequisite for the job.
