Africa's largest money transfer company is looking for an ambitious Marketing & Business Development Manager (Somali speaker) to drive marketing initiatives and help build business from their London head office.
The company has been around for over 40 years and operates in 126 countries across the world, 40 of which are in Africa. It remains a business committed to its original values of trust, reliability, integrity and customer-focus.
The purpose of the role is twofold:
- Maintain and maximise the existing business by developing relationships with agents, agreeing ways in which they could improve their performance and identifying and supporting marketing initiatives
- Grow market share and positioning through the identification of new partners/agents, and supporting their launch and development.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- nurture the relationship with existing agents (account management, reporting, training)
- build relationships with new agents (identify/evaluate prospects, process applications, set up, implement online systems)
- IT system (review, update and monitor)
- close terminated agent agreements
- drive marketing initiatives (market research, draw marketing plan, organise events/conferences, etc.)
- planning (plan business trips, reporting)
- general office requirements
Travel to locations across the world might be involved.
Experience:
- Educated ideally to degree level or equivalent and hold a recognised Marketing or Business Development qualification
- Business Development experience, ideally in the financial industry, preferently a Money Services Provider
- Market Research, corporate marketing and branding experience.
- Experience writing and presenting business proposals
- Proven experience developing, and writing professional, high-quality written content for different communication channels including emails, adverts, presentations, etc.
- An experienced driver with a clean driving licence
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence to deal with people at all levels both internally and externally
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Somali
- Flexible, resilient and self-motivated whilst also a good team player
- Good organisation, planning and project management skills
- Attention to detail with an enquiring analytical mindset
- Sound judgement, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Commercial with entrepreneurial drive and passion
- Demonstrable IT skills in Microsoft Office at Advance/Intermediate level, Excel and Word
- Ability to provide market information analysis
- English is the business language but the ability to speak Somali is also required
