A well know and successful global professional services company is looking for a PR & Communications Manager to join its London based team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a diverse and creative role with international exposure.

Reporting to the Director of PR & Communications, you will be responsible for the management and implementation of the PR content creation and strategy for the local region's operations, in order to raise the profile of the Group's divisions to all media and stakeholders whilst maintaining the integrity of the corporate identity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the day to day relationship with the local PR agency.
  • Partner closely with team on SEO best practices.
  • In collaboration with the PR agency, develop and manage relationships with tier one journalists (online and offline), and maintain responsibility for the development and execution of relevant, accurate press releases, by-lined articles and comment piece.
  • Manage the annual PR budget and ensure the monthly expenditures are accurate.
  • Manage the editorial calendar and execution of all content for the blog, ensuring that both business messaging and SEO objectives are met.
  • Assist with content proofreading on collateral and web projects.
  • Work with external copywriters to produce effective and engaging content for blog and thought leadership.
  • Produce quarterly quantitative and qualitative metrics to measure the success of the PR programme.
  • Identify when media training is required and work with external agencies to ensure all spokespeople are regularly trained.
  • Escalate issues and be the main point of contact in all crisis management situations, draft holding statements and ensure media policy is circulated to field in times of crisis.
  • Maintain an effective in-house press office function by ensuring the journalist database is kept up to date, forward feature lists maintained, press clippings are saved and circulated when applicable, spokespeople biographies and corporate photography kept current.
  • Promote company accolades, awards and initiatives to the field in an appropriate manner.
  • Manage the internal promotion and roll out of any content pieces to ensure field are able to use the reports to generate client visits.
  • Submit relevant and timely articles to the internal employee magazine.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in PR and communications in a professional services firm, related B2B firm, PR Agency or journalism environment, and will have proven experience of managing internal communication programmes and external PR agencies. You will have a demonstrated ability to successfully manage national and international media coverage as well as local and trade press to gain positive, business-related coverage, and to provide media training and coaching senior level spokespersons including preparing for interviews (radio, television, phone and face-to-face). You will have a proven track record of securing press coverage including broadcast coverage (radio/television), trade press, nationals and online/social media, and demonstrated ability to lead and manage crisis PR communications. Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading abilities are essential, as is the ability to influence and communicate effectively with a variety of professionals from senior leadership to staff-level.
