Marketing recruitment specialist EMR has announced Huw Bush, Senior Smartphone Product Manager EMEA at Targus, as the winner of its annual Contractor of the Year award.
Judged on five core competencies - innovation, creativity, impact, engagement and inspiration – the award recognises the contribution made by marketing, communications and digital contractors as nominated by their employer.
Nominated by Oli Frankish, Commercial Director EMEA at Targus, Huw particularly stood out for the innovation shown when developing an appropriate go to market model for Targus’ strategic entry into smartphones.
Rising through the ranks in product and category management, Bush has over 15 years’ experience managing profitable marketing activities across a wide range of new technology products and services.
With previous experience at RIM, Navman and as the Marketing Director at Powermat Europe prior to joining Targus, he now focuses on creating new propositions, launching new products to market and generating incremental sales and revenue growth on a global scale.
“We are delighted to have Huw on board with Targus, as he brings a depth of experience and knowledge of the fast changing telecommunications market. Targus has made a strategic entry into this category and have been able to leverage Huw’s expertise to deliver a very successful launch event at the world’s biggest gathering for the mobile industry – Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We are now set to meet our own ambitious goals for growth.”
Rachel Bowman, Director of the Interim and Contracts Division at EMR, said the award highlighted an abundance of highly skilled marketing professionals contributing to business growth within a limited timeframe.
“We received some glowing nominations from employers where marketers had an enormous impact on the growth and sales of the business during a contracted period. There were a number of excellent examples where these employees had gone above and beyond their role and took a strategic approach to the long-term success of the business, despite being in a contracted position. Huw’s nomination really stood out because of where he’s managed to take Targus in their move into the smartphones market and the success they’ve experienced from this,” Bowman said.
