Description

An external communications manager to support the Head of Marketing in providing external communications activities. The role includes broad PR activity including media relations, thought leadership, and support for content marketing, etc. The main part of the role is media relations, supported by our PR agency.

Job Description -

Media / Public Relations:

  • Identify media opportunities to raise the visibility of all lines of business and company leaders
  • Prepare and manage media interviews with designated spokespeople
  • Arrange training for the spokespeople
  • Adherence to approval protocols and processes
  • Ad-hoc external communications
  • Work closely with chosen PR agency(ies)

Thought Leadership:

  • Work with key business functions to develop and produce relevant thought leadership articles
  • Support Unique Perspectives programme with relevant communications
  • Work closely with chosen PR agency(ies)

Corporate Events:

  • Develop PR plans for key industry events ie FERMA
  • Advise on PR for corporate events; broker events

Personal Specification -

  • This is a responsible and high profile position and it is likely the successful candidate would have in a PR department or agency, preferably within the financial services/insurance sector
  • A CIPR qualification or equivalent, or currently studying for a CIPR or equivalent qualification is desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of the various external communication components
