Director reporting to the CEO of an acquisitive infrastructure consultancy group seeking to establish a SSC and then independently drive growth and awareness of the individual businesses.

Overview:

An acquisitive and ambitious European holding company recently secured a majority stake in one of the UK's leading firms of consultants, established over a century ago. Since then 3 other acquisitions have been made in the same sector, and as part of the growth strategy the Group is wanting to develop a shared services centre (SSC) which will maximise the cost and revenue synergies available across these businesses. Marketing and communications will form a key part of this SSC, supporting these businesses and maximising economies of scale whilst retaining the individual brands of the acquired entities.

Your role and opportunity, therefore, is to take the Marketing and Communications Director seat, reporting directly to the CEO, and drive this change and growth. You will have 4 team members initially with growth expected this year and beyond.

Remit Précis:

The key focus of is working closely with the CEO in developing an emerging communications strategy with an internal pivot toward colleagues. At the same time, you will be building the team to raise the profile of the Group and its associated companies across their relevant sectors. Broadly, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing the Marketing & Communications SSC and Team Leadership
  • Cost Centre Management - budgeting, service level agreements
  • Enhancing Corporate Profile - above-the-line channels including sponsorships and advertising
  • Website & Web Development
  • Social Media Operation & Management
  • Branding - strategy, guidelines, delivering rebranding and regulation
  • Knowledge Management - content, datasheets, marketing library
  • Market Intelligence and Research, tool development
  • CRM System Development, Integration, Admin and Rollout
  • Events Management & Coordination
  • Internal Communications and CSR - intranet, staff events, VCs and bulletins

Person Specification:

  • A successful and aspiring marketer with a proven track record, ideally within the infrastructure/built environment space, who is looking to make the next senior ledaership step in their career, and take on a project which should positively transform a number of existing successful businesses
  • Extensive experience of working closely with senior leaders
  • Exceptional time and cost management and organisational skills
  • Direct team management skills
  • Experience in the construction, general infrasatructure, engineering, architecture and related sectors would be most advantageous
