EMR are working with a FTSE 100 company to recruit a Communications and Engagement Manager within their Technology arm on a permanent basis.

As Communications and Engagement Manager, you will be accountable for setting and delivering the communication and engagement strategy, brand & services for the company's Technology function. You will be the go-to person for the senior leadership team in all aspects of internal, external and partner organisation collaboration and communication.

As the company's pace of delivery increases and our network of supplier partners grows, the role is critical to ensuring that all parties work to a consistent strategy and brand and that messaging and actions are aligned to this.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop an effective working relationship with the Technology leadership team to develop and agree the communications and engagement strategy & services for Technology that aligns to wider strategy of the function
  • Own the internal communications & collaboration channel and channel effectiveness, including bringing new ideas based on industry best practice for similar organisations
  • Create creative and journalistic content to 'tell our story' to our people, partners and stakeholders internally and externally
  • Own the Technology brand and work with group communications to maintain alignment with the corporate brand
  • Engage senior stakeholders across the business to gain insight into transformation activities and source/research the content to help communicate the change with passion
  • Own the external communications channel, build and promote the Technology brand externally, including representation on social media and at related industry forums to build our public profile and attract new talent
  • Develop a process to measure the effectiveness of Technology communications, capturing lessons learnt and driving changes and improvements as required
  • Managing the content, format and logistics for the Technology town halls and other related Technology wide events, ensuring that speakers and presenters are briefed and prepared in readiness

Your key skills and experience will include:

  • Track record of developing and deploying a communications and engagement strategy & services in an organisation comparable to a FTSE 100 company
  • Experience in effective use of social media and relevant digital platforms to build brand and engagement
  • Excellent influencing skills, including ability to influence a wide range of different stakeholders such as technical experts and business subject matter experts up to CXO level
  • Ability to distil technical information into business language that can be understood by a broad non-technical audience
  • Resilience, flexibility and stamina to work in a pressured and changing environment
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and changing requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, with a proven track record in engagement, internal and external communications
  • Self motivated and able to work in a matrix environment
  • Willing to get hands-on and create journalistic and digital content, including activities such as research, write, edit, proofread and file news stories, features and articles as well as the creation of associated creative digital asset
