New BD&M position expanding cross-sector relationships across the FTSE Small Cap and AIM markets.

A leading Top 10 accountancy and advisory firm is seeking to expand its listed-firm footprint across all sectors. The firm would like to employ an experienced Business Developer to help the business achieve increased penetration and market share across these groups of businesses by deepening relationships and opportunities; creating and managing pipeline; planning integrated campaigns and supporting high quality pitches.

As part of the central BD & Marketing team you will work closely with senior management, sales, support and operations teams to own, develop and lead integrated campaigns and follow up within the AIM and FTSE Small Cap marketplaces. The role will involve developing and delivering the Sales and Marketing plan for the programme for the remainder of 16/17 and into the next period of growth.

Core Requirements:

  • Business development leadership including planning and development of the go-to-market strategy
  • Linking and leveraging relationships across all market channels to identify and develop growth and investment opportunities
  • Direct teamwork with bids and pursuits; role to lead large and complex opportunities; including pursuing international cross service line targets
  • Key account management to support strategic targeting of opportunities and follow up
  • Trend-spotting and leveraging thought leadership to create further opportunities to deepen relationships
  • Developing and implementing the proposal/pitch plan and protocol
  • Coordinating client relationships, introductions and opportunities
  • Facilitating the development of winning client propositions in consultation with the delivery teams
  • Managing the relationship with the design team and successfully influencing campaign and material development

Skills, Traits & Knowledge:

  • Sound business development skills and experience
  • Proposals management experience
  • Commercial acumen with habitual competitor analysis
  • Highly organised in project management, planning and scheduling
  • Personable, effective delegator, able to build strong peer-to-peer relationships
  • Research-biased and analytical mind
