Simon Bassett is the Managing Director of EMR and has been with the business since 2000. He is responsible for the leadership, strategy and profit of EMR and ensuring we achieve our vision of becoming the trusted partner of choice and global leader for specialist marketing recruitment.
Simon takes a lead role in working with our key clients and advising on their hiring strategies. He also sits on the EMEA Board of the FiveTen Group – the world’s fastest growing group of professional recruitment specialists.
As an active member of the marketing community, Simon is a member of The Marketing Society and a regular judge at the annual Marketing Week Engagement Awards. He also supports the CIM with career planning and advice to their members. Simon has been a guest lecturer at Henley Business School as an avid supporter of their Entrepreneurship scheme and also plays a lead role in managing EMR’s partnership with The Prince's Trust.
Simon is Vice Chairman of M Squared which is the marketing sector group of APSCo - the professional body that represents the interests of recruitment organisations engaged in the acquisition of business professionals.
He is always happy to have a coffee with Marketing Directors, CMO’s and business leaders to talk through their own career plans or hiring challenges. Outside work Simon graduated from the University of Reading, lives in London, is married and a busy father.
